Here at Nei-Dao Acupuncture and Tui-Na Clinic, we are here to help you to a better quality of life with life style advice. Sometimes we just loose focus of what is really important to us, that is to look after our selves. Where possible we will give you self help advice to help you heal as quickly as possible. From herbs to supplements, through to exercise and stretching, we are here to help you.

It is all about helping you to a better quality of life with:

Herbs – Herbs have been used to treat all types of conditions for thousands of years. Every culture from around the world has their own native herbs. In Traditional Chinese Medicine there are herbals formulas to treat conditions from headaches to constipation and most things in between. Herbs can assist with the healing process, allowing the body to heal faster.

Supplements – Today we are living life in the fast lane. We are surrounded by processed and fatty foods with little or no nutritional valve. So it is very hard to get the nutrients that we need to support healthy bodies. If the body is nutritionally deficient it will not have the building blocks in place that it needs to heal. It is a good idea to supplement your diet with a good quality multivitamin and omega-3 essential fatty acids (fish oil, etc). If you suffer from cramps, tight muscles and stress then you may benefit by taking a magnesium supplement. These are the three most popular supplements used in this Clinic.

Home treatment – It is not always possible to get to the Clinic as often as you would like so being able to help your self at home can make a big difference. Some conditions can be treated at home by you with the use of Moxa and/or a T.E.N.S. machine. Moxa or Moxibustion is a herb that is burnt to warm an area of the body to help promote healing. It works by drawing Qi (energy) and blood to the local area enhancing the body’s natural healing process. It can be preformed daily, which is like having a treatment on a daily bases. T.E.N.S. machines great for musculoskeletal complaints. They work by stimulating the muscles with a mild electrical current. This stimulation makes the muscles contract and release. Helping to release tight and sore muscles and relieving pain. The units that are available through our Clinic are portable and can be worn through out the day as they can be attached to you. This is a cost effective way to relieve pain. By combining the treatments with home help your condition will improve much quicker.

Stretching - Very beneficial and very under rated

Stretching – As a whole we do not do enough stretching. The older we get the less flexible we become. With out stretching our muscles become short which then produces pain. Doing exercises, like Yoga, is a great way to build strength and flexibility. Even just doing some basic stretching at home can make a big difference. The more flexible the body becomes, the more the Qi will free flow. Helping to reduce your pain.

Meditation – Today we are living in stressed out world. Some many angry people who are flying off the handle. With not enough hours in the day or days in the week to do all at we have to do. Working long and hard, just trying to make ends meet. We have to learn to slow down and take time out for our selves. Meditation is very good for de-stressing the body and can take years off your body clock. The benefits from meditating will help you to look and feel many years younger and relieve your stress. Isn’t that a good thing?

Tai Chi and Qi Gong – The ancient Chinese find that if they did certain exercises, they were able to unlock some amazing health benefits. This was the beginning of Tai Chi and Qi Gong. By performing these exercises, they were able to open up the channels. This then allowed the Qi to flow through. Both are important for maintaining good Qi flow throughout the body. If your Qi is strong and free flowing, then there will be no pain or stress and your body will be free from dis-ease.
