What conditions can be treated with Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Acupuncture can treat many conditions from pain through to colds and flu. In many cases, like women’s issues for instance, were western medicine has no real fix, TCM has a very strong track record for successfully treating this condition.
Is Acupuncture safe?
In the hands of a trained practitioner Acupuncture is very safe. The training of an Acupuncturist is for four years full time with compulsory yearly further Education required. With there being no side effects it is a natural alternative for treating many conditions. But be aware of dry needling. It is not Acupuncture!
What is the difference between Acupuncture and dry needling?
Dry needling is where a massage therapist, physiotherapist or the like uses needles to relieve trigger points. They are only treating the symptom not the cause of the pain. Also the training that a dry needling therapist undertakes can be from a weekend course. An acupuncturist has studied a Bachelor of health science and has done a four year course. An Acupuncturist looks at the big picture and treats the cause of the problem as well. Acupuncturist can treat a wide variety of conditions, like GIT disorders were as dry needling is for pain only.
The Doctor can not help me. Is this normal?
I have many patients come to my Clinic, mainly for pain that their doctor has not been able to help with. In the interview I find out that they are getting up to urinate six of seven times per night and/or they have frequent urgent urination. After fixing what they first came to see me about, I then sort out their urination problems. With time the treatments start to progress, no more night time urination or urgency and the frequency is back to normal again. This is only one scenario. It could be insomnia, women’s issues and constipation just to name a few.
Can I claim through my health fund?
