Electro Acupuncture

Electro Acupuncture is great for treating musculoskeletal complaints
Electro Acupuncture is great for musculoskeletal complaints. It was originally developed in China in the 1930’s. Simular to the T.E.N.S. machine which uses self adhesive pads to fix to the skin, the Electro Acupuncture simulator connects to the end of the needles. This can allow for deeper penetration down to the end of the needle. This allows it to get at the source of the problem. They work by stimulating the muscles with a mild electrical current. This pulsating stimulation makes the muscles contract and release. Helping to release tight and sore muscles and relieving pain at the source of the problem.
We have been using electro stimulation in this Clinic for many years now and are very happy with the results that we get. Treating mostly musculoskeletal complaints, the extra stimulation that it provides is not likely to be delivered by the hand of the practitioner. Before the invention of Electro stimulation this was done by the hand of the practitioner. This now frees up the practitioner to be able to do other things. Up to six leads that connects up to two needles per lead allows us to be able to treatment many different areas at the one time. We generally incorporate this with a standard Acupuncture treatment by combining this therapy with pacific acupoints to treat the complaint as a whole. Fixing the cause of the problem instead of just easing the symptoms.
